Who is covered
JBPHH families on TRICARE.
Spouses, children and retirees connected to JBPHH use TRICARE Prime or TRICARE Select. Active-duty members are seen through their military primary care manager and can be referred to the network when the clinic cannot provide pelvic floor physical therapy in time.
Visits are one-on-one with Dr. Elana Shalem, PT, DPT, certified in obstetric physical therapy (CAPP-OB) and licensed in Hawaii. The first visit is a 60-minute video evaluation; follow-ups are 45 minutes, usually every one to two weeks, scheduled around duty hours.
Referral path
Getting from the PCM to a first visit.
Primary care for JBPHH families is at Branch Health Clinic Makalapa (Navy) and the 15th Medical Group at Hickam (Air Force), with Tripler for specialty care. Physical therapy at the 15th Medical Group serves active duty and does not include pelvic floor care, so family members are generally referred to the TRICARE West network. Ask the PCM for "physical therapy, pelvic floor, evaluate and treat," name EMS Therapy, and mention that video visits are fine.
Primary care: Branch Health Clinic Makalapa; 15th Medical Group, Hickam; Tripler Army Medical Center.

Questions
Questions from JBPHH families
Can JBPHH spouses get pelvic floor physical therapy without going to Tripler?
Yes. EMS Therapy is in-network with TRICARE West and sees spouses by video at home. TRICARE Select needs no referral; TRICARE Prime needs one from the PCM.
Does the 15th Medical Group offer pelvic floor physical therapy?
Its physical therapy clinic serves active-duty members and does not list pelvic floor care, so family members are generally referred to network providers.
Can Navy and Air Force retirees use EMS Therapy?
Yes. Retirees under 65 on TRICARE Prime or Select, and their families, are in-network through TRICARE West.
How soon can I be seen?
Usually within a week. Early morning, evening and weekend video visits are available.
