Coast Guard families on TRICARE.
Coast Guard families are TRICARE beneficiaries and follow the same rules as other services: TRICARE Select needs no referral for physical therapy; TRICARE Prime needs a referral from the primary care manager.
Visits are one-on-one with Dr. Elana Shalem, PT, DPT, certified in obstetric physical therapy (CAPP-OB) and licensed in Hawaii. The first visit is a 60-minute video evaluation; follow-ups are 45 minutes, usually every one to two weeks, scheduled around duty hours.
