Northern Catskills

Why northern Catskills patients choose video.

The mountaintop and the western Catskills are ski towns, farms and second homes, a long way from Kingston, Albany or Oneonta in winter. Skiers and snowboarders with knee and back problems, farm families, retirees and weekend households are all seen one-on-one by video.

One-on-one with Dr. Elana Shalem, PT, DPT (CAPP-OB), licensed in New York: a 60-minute evaluation, then 45-minute follow-ups.

Private pay

Private pay in the northern Catskills

Rates are quoted on the free discovery call. A superbill after every visit supports out-of-network reimbursement from PPO plans; HSA and FSA cards are accepted. No authorizations, no plan visit limits, no waitlist.

Insurance: In-network with Aetna in New York, billed directly. Other plans are private pay with a superbill; coverage is confirmed before the first visit.

Referrals: New York allows you to start physical therapy without a referral for up to 10 visits or 30 days, whichever comes first. If care continues beyond that, we help you get a referral from your physician.
